Year 11 History Trip to IWM Duxford – February 2026
In February 2026, Year 11 History students visited the Imperial War Museum at Duxford as part of their studies. Over two days, students from different classes took part in a carefully planned programme designed to enhance their understanding of key historical themes.
During the visit, students participated in three structured activities, allowing them to explore a wide range of exhibits and gain insight into significant developments in military and social history. The day provided valuable opportunities to engage with real artefacts and deepen their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Students travelled to the museum by coach and were able to enjoy the extensive collections at Duxford, including historic aircraft and interactive displays. The visit also offered time to reflect on their learning and, for some, purchase souvenirs from the museum shop.
The trip was a highly successful and enriching experience, supporting students’ academic studies while bringing history to life in an engaging and memorable way.
