Staff Vacancies: About Us

Appointing new staff to our team is amongst the most important things we do. We are always pleased to hear from outstanding individuals who wish to work in a forward-looking, innovative, student-focused environment. We place strong emphasis on good behaviour and have a commitment to healthy eating, to physical exercise and the arts. We are a hard working team, accustomed to dealing with fast-paced change, and passionate about learning. We also try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Our students

We are genuinely proud of our students. We aim to create a civilised and mature environment in which they are motivated by encouragement and praise. We emphasise the development of the whole-person and try to avoid thinking in narrow terms of academic ability. We spend a lot of time talking to and listening to our students. Naturally, we only recruit people who like working with young people. We also take a firm line with poor behaviour, and students know this.

Our staff

Our core purpose is high quality learning and teaching. Our teaching team is highly professional, endlessly reflective, and innovative. They are supported by a superb team of support staff. We invest heavily in the development of all our staff: they are our main asset. We also aim to provide everyone with good working conditions, time and resources for them to carry out a professional job. We have high expectations of all who work here: a professional dress code, a no-smoking policy, and exceptionally high standards of conduct.

Our school

We have an attractive, if eccentric, site. We are gradually transforming it into an exceptional environment for learning and have benefited from a huge investment in fabulous new buildings. Bury St Edmunds is a lovely market town, with Cambridge half an hour away and London just over an hour. We are much more accessible than most people realise. One of Suffolk’s secrets is not wanting everyone to know what a gem of a place it is to live here.

We have frequent visits from people wishing to see our site, talk to our students and staff, and find out more about our distinctive 4-session day. If you would like to visit, do get in touch.
